"How goodly are your tents, O Jacob, your dwelling places, O Israel" [Numbers 24:5]

Description
The Mah Tovu, the opening phrase above, is one of the very first prayers said each morning just after entering the synagogue to pray.

In coordination with the artist's client, it was mutually decided to use the visual idea of a tent with a scene of Jerusalem in the background. A flap of the tent remains slightly open with a hint of light, or fire, from within to represent a "focal point for meditation". The addition of Aaron's breastplate is a representation of the People of Israel ... the Twelve Tribes.
