The Kagan Africa Ketuba
Date 14 Menachem Av 5771
Description
It seems that Norman's nephew Noah was prophetic. This dramatic ketuba took the artist out of his element and, yet another ketuba, his most recent (click the NEXT button above) once again, coincidentaly, was a dramatic change from Norman's comfort zone.
Up until this point, the artist never had to deal with shapes of continents or the lion of Africa.

The combination of the jacaranda tree, a lion of Africa, some baobab trees, a giraffe and some typical African flora, all together surrounding the continent of Africa has created a most unusual and beautiful ketuba, and the couple were thrilled with the results.

Surrounding the continent of Africa, the artist hinted at waves in the water and certainly did not want that the wildlife take precedence over the text yet wanted to integrate the animals with the text and not just surrounding the text.

The mighty lion of Africa.
