Lotus

Description
The Oriental heritage of the bride strongly influenced the design and ornamentation of this ketuba with a mantle of jasmine in its crown and the stylized lotus flowers at its base.

A star-studded evening sky over Jerusalem.

The groom, being a Levi, suggested that the artist use Aaron's breastplate as part of the ornamentation for this ketuba.

The bride and groom especially love the Sabbath and Norman used this fact to incorporate shapes that are reminiscent of the Sabbath candlesticks within the lotus shape.
